So maybe one of the oldschool server keepers reads this and still has an unused archive with MTA:Race maps they could send me, I'd be happy. We'd use these maps on Neon United in the Classic Race Deathmatch mode.

I used to administrate Betefield DD in MTASA:Race. The maps then were hard to get a hold of then but fun to play (that's what brought the players back) I recently spoke to one an old MTASA:Race friend, he has a tonne load of old school MTASA:Race DD maps, however, they all need converting which is a painful task to do manually.
Converting MTASA:Race maps to the current format (with objects) is all good but it involves re-adding spawn points and pickups. I am not sure if there is a converter which does spawns, pickups and objects.
Playing race is quite straightforward. If there are checkpoints, drive from checkpoint to checkpoint and be the first to reach the finish line within the time. If there are no checkpoints, just drive around and have fun.
A Race 'addon' is no different from any other script resource, except that is has addon="race" in the section of it's meta.xml file. This is simply to allow Race to identify it and put it in the /config menu for you. Addons communicate with Race via events. The current list of Race events and what they do are here:
I am happy to announce that we've come to a point where we're in a position to release more ''shelved'' products, this is again a new map pack made by our mapping team that has not been released publicly as of now, we have been waiting to release this pack to the public as this may be one of the last (race) packs you'll see from us as our main project is taking up all our resources.
This thread is dedicated to this pack alone after some time has passed we will update our compilation folder solely for convenience.(Do note you can already use the ''folder'' link to download this particular map pack.
The map pack will come with a wide variety of battles with huge wallrides, classic race team deathmatch, completely break away maps, near impossible stunts to obtain the very best of vehicles, remakes of old classic maps that don't belong to us, and much much more.
0.5 offers two game modes for GTA Vice City: Deathmatch and Stunt. Deathmatch offers several character classes that players can spawn as, each with advantages and disadvantages. Stunt offers players the opportunity to race and perform stunts over ramps that are added to the map.
Multi Theft Auto San Andreas features a new game mode called "race" where you race against other players in GTA San Andreas. You must to go through all of the checkpoints/coronas to finish the race. It also offers a map editor that allows you to create your own maps for different styles of gameplay. A very popular map is Destruction Derby, in which you have to destroy the opposition.
The first release of MTA:SA featured a vehicle racing mode and an accompanying map editing mode that allowed users to create custom environments and races. It has since been updated to a current version of 1.1.1.
To get a better average map quality we'll be enforcing some new rules for new maps on both servers.Currently our servers have plenty of "ordinary" maps so from now on our map managers need to be a bit more restricted on uploading maps. This means that from now some maps won't get uploaded unless they're good or needed. With this new enforcement it makes sense that many of our outdated and badly rated maps get deleted.
Your maps should be tested and then uploaded via forum in a zip package with inside only your meta.xml, .map and script files. Keep your map uploads in one topic and add some screenshots or a video for new maps.
Map managers should not have to fix your map, so make sure everything is correct before you upload. If you want to add extra resources upload them in a separate zip file and Yoshi or Bier will review them. Naming:Adding the mode to the map name would be nice, also don't forget the original author to the credits.Keep the filename of your map simple and don't forget to add the mode with -. No one will ever see the filename so you don't need to add your nick for credit. Good:nts-drift.zipsh-arena.ziprtf-basic.zipdd-alien.zipctf-football_field.zip Bad:[DD]Midnight-City-rm.zipNTS----xD.zipRTF-Big Smoke (For Danchikus).zipshooter-shooter2by(O)_(O).zip Maps:Minimum amount of spawn points is 50 and should be spread out as much as possible over the map/spawn area. Modes:If you're making a map different from the default race/dd game modes, you need to specify it in the meta.xml file. All scripts are done on the server, no need to add anything else. Example:
Shooter - SH - (gamemodes="race" racemode="shooter"):Simply add spawn points to a large spaced area with some obstacles for cover. If you want to add vehicles pickups make sure they're fair to everyone. Maps with Karts, Bikes or Rhino (tank) won't be accepted.
Capture The Flag - CTF - (gamemodes="race" racemode="ctf"):You need to place two unique flag objects in the respective bases with the editor plugin.Spawn Points should be added to a team red or blue with the editor plugin.Try to provide different roads to the flag so it's not impossible to capture it, and provide some kill opportunity between the bases. Reach The Flag - RTF- (gamemodes="race" racemode="rtf"):
DeadLine - DL - (gamemodes="race" racemode="deadline"):Simply add spawn points to a large spaced area with some obstacles for cover. If you want to add vehicles pickups make sure they're fair to everyone.Remember to make your map big enough!Maps with Rhino (tank) won't be accepted. 2ff7e9595c
